For several Christmases, my snow village has been smartly displayed atop our living room Entertainment Center. A village war of sorts has also raged between my sister and I over who has the more spectacular village.
"Hilton Hights" is a lovely community complete with alpine hideaways, a palm tree island, a stone foot bridge, a curious elk or two, and not one but THREE lovely light houses. The crown jewel of HH is Rebecca Falls that tumble down into Krew Kove. A little train passes in front of the falls and disappears into a tunnel that wraps around and behind. There is even a little make-out bluff. Joe jokingly placed an elk in front of the parked car up there and wondered if it might give the unsuspecting couple a fright. It was only a few years ago that he would put his lego men scattered about the village. I guess he is too old for that now.
.... But upgrading to a flat screen and removing the entertainment center last March initiated the realization that the village would need to relocate when the time came to set up the village for Christmas. Brother Bob who customized and built the display stands, had to come up with a new plan that would hopefully allow usage of all the handmade pieces that he has constructed over the years ....
So . . . just a little north of the flat screen and south of the Christmas tree is the new and improved Hilton Hights Village. The make-over delayed it's set up until New Year's, but we are still waiting for real snow around here anyway. So I'll just sit in the village glow and
