Another Halloween has come and gone. For one group of cousins, it was a mission to protect a certain Oregon sector by the young Jedi masters, donning their newly sewn warrior cloaks (lovingly made my Madam Gramma and Jedi assistant Jenny). Before heading out, Obi-Wan-Kenobi, and not one, but two Anakin Skywalkers, pledged with their drawn light sabers to band together, walk and NOT run, and to use their most polite words coming and going. As you can see by the above photo, their quest was a serious one, (apparently Jedi’s do NOT smile on demand) but great fun was had by all - the treats were agreed to be of high Jedi quality, with some being sampled along the way.
There was some worry that Obi-wan was attempting to cross over to the dark side, as he dabbled in the practice of opening doors for the owners from time to time, and his light saber almost poked a few eyes out, but all in all - the mission was a success and injury free. Princess Leia, accompanied the Jedi Knights, in her outfit made famous on the ice planet Hoth. At first we thought she was somewhat confused by all the candles in the pumpkins and decided singing “Happy Birthday” was in order. However, it was decided that this must be some kind of intelligence code. Before decending upon new doorways in their path, the Jedi's were somewhat determined to lead light saber demonstrations for inhabitants, but this idea was eventually discarded as it was determined more treats could be acquired with out the time consuming saber displays. "May the Force be with you!" was a common phrase heard upon leaving each home, followed by Princess Leia's "Tank doo".

Sounds like great fun. Not having any little ones around, Halloween was relatively quiet. Also not a trick-or-treator - Jedi or otherwise - darkened our door.
However leftover candy sent to grandson Cory in a care package was much appreciated by dorm buddies. Love, Aunt Cook
