Snow can be treacherous, a headache and persistently annoying to some people. To me it is simply thrilling. The Pacific NW gets just the perfect amount - well maybe not perfect for ME, because as I have reported previously, our house is somehow spared from the lovely snowage that everyone else gets. I do wonder if my palm tree repels snow for those who live within a certain radius. At any rate, on the rare occasion that it DOES snow, it is never here for too long and it is never in any insane amount.
But a quite miraculous thing happened this week. Winter is over and three inches of snow fell on my little palm tree. Yes, it is officially Spring and not only that - it fell on Jimmy and Becky's 26th anniversary. We have never seen snow even close to this date, and probably never will again .... It was the wettest, sloppiest snow we have ever had the privilege to frolic in. And we loved it.
Why do I love it?
It is absolutely silent when it falls.
It hides all the mud and muck that Winter leaves behind.
It makes hot tea and hazelnut lattes taste all the better.
Within 6 hours, it miraculously disappeared.
By dusk, there wasn't a trace left - just a promise of Spring .....

Happy Spring Break to us!
