Mt. Rainier National Park

Once upon a time, a few weekends ago,
11 gals, their gear, and grub, traveled many
miles to find a quiet little cabin in the woods.
They left their TVs and computers behind.
Any cell phone calls had to be made only if
scaling the porch lamp post and balancing on
their big toe while facing east, was possible.
There were games, sun, Bibles, food, a gentle
stream, music, food, friends, and did I say
food?

Soooo, the weekend MAY have been tainted
by someone's smelly pants due to a laundry
mishap and yes, disgusting black licorice was
smuggled in as part of the "treat" bar. But the
bad aroma and licorice mistake was totally
redeemed by an afternoon walk
on this trail ..............

Which led to a bridge where there was THIS ............................

and if you listened very carefully, you might have heard those mothers, grandmothers,
wives, and friends singing the words to How Great Thou Art while soaking in the sights
and the smells and the awesomeness. And then they hiked back.

The shinsplints are gone now. But the Melody from a bridge that seemed so far away
from the troubles of this world, brings a smile to the heart.
